Our aim with the car was to convert the car to electric whist retaining as much of the character of the original car as possible. To this end the whole conversion has been carried out without cutting the vehicle anywhere. The whole conversion is bolt in.
We aimed to keep the soul of the bluebird whilst giving it the heart of the LEAF.
Kerb weight has increased by around 40kg and the car has been set up for a smooth and relaxed power delivery although this can be reprogrammed if desired.

With this conversion our aim was to convert it to electric without cutting or altering it in any way. The car is a full restored, but standard Minor and we have ensured the conversion is bolt in. The only upgrades to the vehicle are a remote brake servo (now fed by an electric vacuum pump) and a wonderful series 3 interior. The car still runs on its original suspension.
This was our first conversion and we ran it like you see it in the video for around a year. It was then sold and we took the experiences of the builds we had done in the mean time to improve the car.
Main charges were that we used steel battery boxes instead of steel frames with aluminium skins.
